When talking about SUVs that balance both style and comfort, the Acura MDX has to be right there at the top. The MDX is known for emphasizing value by adding a generous array of features and driver aids. Those include advanced safety system technology incorporated into the windshield.
Unfortunately, precise engineering and alluring beauty can’t provide 100% defense against glass damage. A rock, tree branch, or debris can cause an inconvenient and unexpected chip or crack that can quickly spread and get your windshield shattered. If that happens, you have to replace your windshield.
To help you understand the elements that play a role in determining the price for replacing a windshield and find out actual windshield replacement prices for Acura MDX, I conducted research. I called various auto shops located all over the US to request price quotes. Below, you will find my findings for specific locations, average prices, and factors that can affect the price.

Windshield Replacement Cost – Factors
The fact that there are so many variables at play makes estimating the cost of replacing your windshield a bit challenging. And this is even more prominent in luxury vehicles as they have additional features and technologies attached to the windshield. Thus, you have to understand what factors influence the price; otherwise, your estimate of how much you’ll spend on windshield replacement will be inaccurate.
I’ve written more about how these things may influence the cost of windshield repair in another article, but here’s a brief rundown:
- Location: Windshield replacement costs vary state by state. Sometimes there can be a significant difference in price between Eastern states and Western states, for instance.
- Model Year: Newer models provide more protection and technological features, and thus the replacement cost also increases. On the other hand, vehicles released a decade ago, for instance, are expected to have a lower windshield replacement price.
- Labor Cost: The labor costs of installing the windshield also matter. Some vehicles need further calibration of different sensors connected to the windshield. That can increase the overall price.
- Special Features: You will have the option to choose from special windshield features like tinted glass, noise-reducing glass, tempered glass, etc. The price for each also varies greatly.
- Windshield Manufacturer: While selecting a new windshield for your vehicle, you can choose an aftermarket windshield or get an OEM windshield directly from the dealership. Usually, OEM windshields cost higher than aftermarket windshields.
Acura MDX Windshield Replacement Cost
The average windshield replacement cost of an Acura MDX is around $550.
According to my research, the lowest cost is $200, and the highest is over $800. This broad price range is due to the eight different windshield replacement options available for the MDX. The trim level of your MDX determines which option you have to select. Another noticeable matter for the MDX is the high OEM windshield replacement cost.
This over-the-top price is not surprising as most luxury vehicles require high maintenance costs. So, if you’re looking for a more affordable option, I would recommend choosing an aftermarket windshield replacement.
2022 – 2018 Acura MDX
On average, it will cost you around $650 to replace the windshield of your 2018-2022 Acura MDX.
There is no difference in price between the fourth-generation MDX, the 2022 model, and the third-generation models, 2018 and 2019 MDX. In states like Arizona and Oregon, the price goes up to $850. Whereas in Tennessee, my research led me to an auto shop offering the service for $300.
Location | Autoshop | Price |
---|---|---|
Memphis, Tennessee | Eden Auto Glass | $300 |
Portland, Oregon | Discount Auto Glass | $850 |
Tucson, Arizona | U.S. Auto Glass | $850 |
2016 – 2017 Acura MDX
The average price of windshield replacement for 2016 and 2017 MDX models is around $450.
The 2016 and 2017 MDX also fall in the third-generation MDX models, so there is not that much difference in features compared to the newer models. Still, there is a price drop in all the locations listed. Both in Oregon and Arizona, the price drops to $725. The windshield replacement cost also decreases a bit in Tennessee.
Location | Autoshop | Price |
---|---|---|
Memphis, Tennessee | Eden Auto Glass | $255 |
Portland, Oregon | Discount Auto Glass | $725 |
Tucson, Arizona | U.S. Auto Glass | $725 |
2014 – 2015 Acura MDX
The average windshield replacement price for the 2014-2015 Acura MDX models is around $480.
In states like Oregon and Arizona, the price drops significantly. In Tennessee, however, it remained the same as the 2016-2017 MDX models – $255.
Location | Autoshop | Price |
---|---|---|
Memphis, Tennessee | Eden Auto Glass | $255 |
Portland, Oregon | Discount Auto Glass | $600 |
Tucson, Arizona | U.S. Auto Glass | $600 |
2010 – 2011 Acura MDX
The average price of windshield replacement for 2010 and 2011 Acura MDX is $350.
Naturally, the prices go down for an SUV that came out about a decade ago. My research, again, led me to Tennessee, where I found an auto shop that can replace your windshield for around $250. In Oregon and Arizona, the price is $550.
Location | Autoshop | Price |
---|---|---|
Memphis, Tennessee | Eden Auto Glass | $235 |
Portland, Oregon | Discount Auto Glass | $550 |
Tucson, Arizona | U.S. Auto Glass | $550 |
Conclusion
With an average windshield replacement price of $550, I can conclude that if your windshield shatters, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to replace it.
Of course, there are some details here and there that should be considered. Don’t forget about labor costs, location, and the type of windshield you want to get installed.
I hope my research gave you an idea of what to expect regarding costs and factors. Stay safe on the road!
