Honda Civic is an absolute classic and everyone’s go-to choice for a car that’s both stylish and functional. Since the first release of the Civic series by Honda back in the early ‘70s, the model’s been synonymous with confidence and endurance, regardless of weather or road conditions. As mighty and durable as it is, though, the Civic can’t guarantee a full protection from auto glass damage. When a rock chip happens or severe weather damages the windshield, you shouldn’t wait for damage to become a danger.
I know how stressful and annoying it can be to deal with unexpected car-related issues, especially when you’re on a budget or have absolutely no idea how much money it’s going to cost you. Don’t worry, though; I’m here to help you!
To get the most accurate data of real-life windshield replacement prices, I went directly to the source – auto shops in different cities. I called several auto shops and asked them what’s the price for this type of service. Now, I can’t call all the cities in the United States, but I think you’ll still get a pretty good picture of how much a Honda Civic windshield replacement will cost near you. Not just that, but the data you’ll find here will also help you estimate the price based on the year of your Honda Civic. You will also learn some other factors that may impact the windshield replacement cost. Let’s go!

Replacement Cost – Factors
The two most important factors that influence a windshield replacement cost is make and model of the vehicle. Certain vehicles are more expensive to care for, as are certain vehicles within the same brand or line of vehicles. Although make and model are the two most important factors to consider, they are not the only ones. I’ve written all about windshield replacement cost variables in my previous article, but here’s a brief overview:
- Model: The make and model of your vehicle largely determine how much a windshield replacement costs. Older models tend to be more affordable because there are more resources available.
- Location: Where you live will help to set the market price and reflect the competition.
- Auto Shop: Individual shops set their own prices. Family-owned operations are sometimes more expensive upfront, but you can get more deals, discounts, and better service than chain locations.
- Windshield Manufacturer: You will have to pay for the windshield itself. The manufacturer you select will determine this price.
- Labor Costs: In addition to the windshield itself, you will have to pay for labor. The difficulty in replacing the windshield will determine labor costs.
- Special Features: If you select a windshield with special features, you may end up paying more for both the windshield itself and labor costs.
- Insurance: Your insurance policy can help lower the bill.
Honda Civic Windshield Replacement Cost
The good news is that replacing the windshield of your Honda Civic won’t cost you an arm and a leg, compared to other car brands. On average, replacing the windshield of your Honda Civic will cost you between $500 and $1000. It all depends on your model, of course, as the newer your model is, the more expensive the replacement will cost you (between $800-$1000). For older models, the price goes below $500. 2021 Honda Civic
The 2021 Honda Civic model is the newest one, and it was a little bit hard for me to get an exact quote from an auto shop. After all, it’s a model from last year, and most mechanics haven’t even worked on it yet, let alone tell me how much it’s going to cost to replace its windshield. They gave me an estimated price of $321 for all Honda Civic models, nevertheless.
Location | Auto Shop | Average Price |
---|---|---|
Fremont, CA | All Star Glass | $321.78 |
2020 Honda Civic
Similarly to the 2021 Honda Civic, not all auto shops were willing to give quotes just yet. It’s not like they were being secretive; it’s just that with newer models, they can’t be sure. The latest Civic models have advanced driver assistance systems like the Lane Keeping Assistant and the Collision Mitigation Braking System, dependent on proper auto glass installation. This means that not every mechanic can just go ahead and replace your windshield for a couple of hundred dollars.
Speaking of fancy car system components, don’t get surprised when you see the prices below. The average windshield replacement price for a 2020 Honda Civic is around $1000. Auto shops in Minneapolis, MN, Snohomish, WA, and Colorado Springs, CO were kind enough to let me know.
Location | Auto Shop | Average Price |
---|---|---|
Fremont, CA | Affordable Auto Glass | No quote, but services offered |
Houston, TX | Binswanger Glass | No quote, but services offered |
Minneapolis, MN | Rapid Glass | $947.01 |
Snohomish, WA | Safelite Auto Glass | $979.58 |
Colorado Springs, CO | Service Auto Glass | $797.60 |
2018-2019 Honda Civic
With the 2018 and 2019 Honda Civic models, things are starting to look a little different, as you will see in the table below. On average, it’s going to cost you a little over $700 to replace the windshield on your 2018 or 2019 Honda Civic. Both models are still relatively new to the market and have modern windshield technologies, which is reflected in the price.
The most expensive price was offered from an auto shop in Snohomish, WA. On the other hand, California yet again won the most affordable price contest. See other examples right here:

Of course, it all depends on location so let me sum my findings up for you. In Colorado, the price was just a little over $300. In Washington and Minnesota, however, the cost can go up to $450-$500.
